How To Actually Achieve Your Goals

April 24, 2021

We know first-hand how difficult it can be to expect results after your first workout. Like anything worthwhile, your dream body requires patience and hard work. Of course, it helps big-time to have great equipment that allows for faster results. Achieving any goal in life means being disciplined. It may involve letting go of old habits that are keeping us back. Here are a few tips that have helped me in my journey.

1. Make your goals specific

Saying “I want to look and feel better than ever” is too broad. How about switching it to “I want to work out 30 minutes 5 days a week” or “I want to tone my abs”? When you get specific about a goal, it materializes.

2. Is your goal meaningful?

We tend to forget about superficial goals. Those that actually mean something to us stick. Why do I want to get fit? Do you care about your health? Do you want to increase your confidence? Do something for yourself? Make it mean something to you.

3. Pick achievable goals.

You are more likely to achieve goals that you know are possible. I’m not discouraging you from reaching for the stars, however, plan milestones and celebrate the small wins. This way, your enthusiasm and passion will stay intact.

4. Make them time-bound.

When the clock isn’t ticking, inspiration will most likely be lower. When do you plan on achieving this goal? Don't just say you want to eventually be your best version. Pick a date on your calendar if you're serious about achieving this goal.

5. Don’t be afraid to re-adjust your goals.

If you find yourself getting further away from your goals rather than closer to them, think about approaching them a different way. If you’re working out in the mornings, try afternoons. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, try switching your routine up a bit. It’s important to take a look at your journey and decide if what you’re doing is working, and if not, what you can do to get back on track.
